to All who came to honor our Dad today, especially our mother whom he loved eternally, thank you for coming .
It was simple and Lebanese and classy ....with a splash of humor.
How I would have loved to go back to his house, and tell him it took Joe Ghanem 4 hours to come from Gross Point because a highway was closed down! While he would not have said haddam, ( that's reserved for the poor sick kids at St Judes), he certainly would have said, " he's crazy for even coming, that Poor kid, is he ok?:"
he would ask, How was the food? I'd say ' really really good' , he'd say 'you didn't bring me any did ya"?" And I'd say,' no I felt funny" Then he'd say, good I'm glad, now go upstairs and make me a Hotdog!" lolololol
He was generous, and loved his family more than any of the toys mostly bestowed upon him by his best friend Joe D'Anthony.
His youngest grand daughter has the piano....
He was our Protector, taught us that the four fingers on our hands represents Jenny,Shelly John and Sara. God is The thumb ... keeps us tight and together FOREVER as it goes across the fingers when you make a fist.
Most of all, Dad was sarcastically hilarious, .... John, who spent probably every day of his 48 years with , picked up on it at a young age, that gift of humor .... and so I laughed, ........and have never really stopped, for too long of a time anyway....
I love you dad....Ill stop crying tomorrow. I promise .
